Tommee Tippee Diaper Pail

When I went shopping for a diaper pail for our baby registry I chose based on cost and appearance. In a world of tacky looking diaper pails I was trying to find one that blended in with the nursery decor and wouldn't break the budget. The last thing I wanted was an expensive eye sore that screamed pooper pail. When I came across the Tommee Tippee diaper pail I was pleased; it's small, reasonably priced, understated, and comes in multiple color options. However, within the first week of using it weaknesses started showing themselves. First, the small size works against you. We can only fit 8-10 NB diapers in it at a time, this translates into having to empty it daily. Second, it stinks despite being emptied daily. I finally bought an air freshener to stick inside the lid and that helped some. Third, it works by you having to manually push the diaper through a hinged trap door. This means that your hand is touching the plastic which multiple dirty diapers have passed through- disgusting! Finally, in order to change the bag you have to maneuver the trash bag across a blade under the lid to cut it-- much harder then it sounds. To sum it up, I wish we had spent a little bit more money and I had tried out the floor models before purchasing one. In fact I am actively searching for a new one so if you have a diaper pail you love, comment and tell me what brand it is.
